Griffith Construction, Inc. is your local handyman service company, serving every town in Morris, Passaic, Essex, Bergen, Hudson, Sussex and Union Counties. We handle the repairs, installations and odd jobs around a house that most contractors will not come out for.
Most of our work starts as a list stuck to somebody's refrigerator. A door that sticks, a shelf that never went up, a cracked ceiling in the back bedroom, a railing that wobbles. Rather than chase four different trades, you hand us the list and we work through it.
We will tell you up front what each item takes and what it costs. If something on the list needs a licensed specialist, we will say so instead of guessing at it.
Creaking stairs, loose railings and damaged decking are the kind of thing people step around for months until somebody gets hurt. These are quick jobs for a crew that does them regularly, and they are worth doing before the weather makes them worse.
The person who quotes your job is accountable for it. We have worked in northern New Jersey since 1999, our crews are uniformed, and we clean up behind ourselves. We are fully insured and licensed under NJ Lic # 13VH00200000.

Jim Griffith was recommended to us to clean up after a flood in our basement. Jim and his crew took out whatever was damaged, cleaned, sanitized and monitored the drying process for days after the initial cleaning. The basement was clean, dry and ready for our belongings to be brought downstairs. My husband broke his elbow during the clean up and was trying to raise our new hot water heater with one arm. Jim graciously helped him out and said he would be back once the water stopped coming in to clean up the new mess. True to his word, he was back and gave us one final cleaning and sanitizing. Jim and his team were knowledgeable, courteous and dependable. If I am ever in need of any handyman or cleaning services, I'll be calling Jim.
I needed a reliable contractor to do some repairs and clean-up work in and around my home after some severe flooding. GCI did the job. Jim was prompt, reliable and his fees were reasonable. His workers were polite, efficient and very accommodating, but more importantly knew and understood what needed to be done. They performed their work quickly and professionally. This was extremely important since I was about to close on the sale of my home two weeks later. The work had to meet not only my approval but that of the buyer's also, which it did I'm happy to say.
